Deutsche WindGuard has wind tunnels in both Bremerhaven and Varel that provide state of the art technology suitable for use in a wide variety of applications.

The wind tunnel centre consists of two wind tunnels that provide unique and different possibilities of utilization.

1.      The larger wind tunnel is situated in Bremerhaven and is particularly suitable for acoustic and aerodynamic research because it has been acoustically optimized to reduce background noise. The size of the wind tunnel also permits investigations on large-sized construction components and realistic models.

2.      The DKD wind tunnel located in Varel is specialized as an anemometer calibration laboratory. In Addition, sensors for wind speed and wind direction are developed and optimised.

Deutsche WindGuard is accredited as a calibration laboratory by the Deutsche Kalibrierdienst (DKD).* Since 2005, Deutsche WindGuard Wind Tunnel Services GmbH is accredited by MEASNET as well.*
